After 29 years in the Tech industry, Jody was looking for more fulfillment in how she spent her days. She and her husband Erik decided to bravely reimagine their future and pursue their shared dream of business ownership.
With open minds and hearts, they started a thorough discovery journey that led them to Hallmark Homecare.
Becoming a Hallmark Homecare franchisee is very personal for Jody. Her mother, a caregiver by nature, had a circle of friends that were mostly seniors. Her Mom cared for several of them through different health situations as well as their passing. This created a foundation for Jody in feeling comfortable with the elderly as well as a heart for service.
While Jody’s Mom was ailing from brain cancer, it became abundantly clear through deeply honest conversations that she wanted to die in her home surrounded by her family, familiar belongings, and her beloved animals.
As a family, they ensured her request was fulfilled, however, it was very physically and emotionally draining for Jody’s father. There was some family help but they weren’t sure where to turn for more formal care. If there had been a local service like Hallmark Homecare that they could’ve partnered with, it would have made things better for everyone.
Jody and Erik live on a small ranch just outside of Austin Texas where they care for two very spoiled senior horses and two indulged dogs. They look forward to being of service in a myriad of ways to local seniors and families while also providing career opportunities for professional independent caregivers by matching them with great clients.

Professional Independent Caregiver Opportunities
Are you a caring and dependable independent caregiver wanting to make a real difference in the lives of seniors and their families?
Are you interested in making a substantially better wage as you deliver this vital service that you’ve been called to do?
Do you have the following qualifications?
- At least 2 years of hands-on experience
- Professional certification (CNA, PCA or equivalent)
- Legal ability to work (Proof of legal residency, green card, social security card, picture ID, etc.)
- Clean criminal background check with a 7-year lookback
- Positive professional references that can be verified
- No state board or other disciplinary actions
- Reliable transportation and a clean driving record
- Current health certificates as applicable (e.g. TB clearance, Hepatitis B screening, etc.)
